As we go into the 3rd week of Advent, we celebrate Joy.
How can we be joyful if we are not first thankful?
I’m thankful to God for Jesus, that He no longer sees my sin, my stains from this world, but instead sees His Beautiful Son, Who is Perfect and Spotless, unstained and unmarked by sin. Which means we don’t have to be separated from Our Father!
Help us (those who trust and believe in Jesus as the Christ, the True King) to rest in this Gospel reality and continue to run to You with our sins and ask forgiveness knowing You are just and our payment has been made through Jesus’ bloody sacrifice on the cross. You turned away from Him so that You could look on us!
“Instead, this is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after those days” — the Lord’s declaration. “I will put my teaching within them and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will one teach his neighbor or his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they will all know me, from the least to the greatest of them” — this is the Lord’s declaration. “For I will forgive their iniquity and never again remember their sin.” Jeremiah 31:33-34 CSB
