A Church Where Gospel is Central, People are the Church, and Jesus is Always the Hero!
At Grace and Truth Community Church, our goal is to see Evansville reached by Jesus and changed by the truth that He was God, born in the flesh, and that He died in the place of sinners to bring forgiveness and eternal life. We long to meet people’s needs physically, but most importantly, spiritually by seeing them come to Jesus. Our desire to make the Gospel the center of everything we do!
How We Carry Out Our Mission
Worship: The Bible tells us in Hebrews 10:25, “not neglecting to meet together.” So we make it a habit to make together regularly for worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. When we gather, we come to worship the God of the Bible. Feasting on the Gospel together as our daily bread through praying and preaching, ordinances and singing, gives us strength and encouragement we need to glorify him throughout the week. Since God’s Word equips us for every good work, we center everything in our worship gathering under the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So that we may live worthy of it. (2 Timothy 3:16)
Discipleship: It is the privilege and the responsibility of every church to disciple and care for the people in it. That is, we must continually seek to minister the gospel to one another inside our fellowship by mutually supporting one another, teaching one another, encouraging one another, challenging one another, and edifying one another, trusting that God will see fit to “form Christ in us” as a result.
Outreach: Prior to Jesus’ ascension in Acts 1:8, He told His disciples that they would be His witnesses “in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Therefore, it is our privilege and responsibility to minister God’s gospel to those outside our fellowship by reaching out – through both evangelism and social justice – locally and globally, serving as salt and light to a fallen world in desperate need of the transforming power of the gospel (Colossians 1:13-14).
